The Renault Triber has announced that it will be unveiled on the 19th of June this year. The much-awaited Triber will launch in India and sit above the Kwid in the line-up of Renault India. It has been expected that the price will stand somewhere between Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 8 lakh. With the latest teaser from Renault, it has been said that the car would be ‘ultra-modern’ and ‘super spacious’. This is a confirmation of the fact that the car would receive the much-hyped versatile and modular seating layout. This will even make the car an optional 7-seater.
The design cues of the new car
The heavy camouflage has made it quite difficult to find out the design elements of the car. The company has definitely kept everything under wraps. However, it can be said that the car would be sporting a premium design that would be prominent from the bold grille. The styling headlamps will be having LED daytime running lamps. The car would even feature a wide central air dam. It would even have roof rails, some heavy plastic underbody cladding, alloy wheels and LED taillamps. The tyres seem to be pretty skinny. It has been spotted several times during test runs under heavy camouflage. There are claims that the unique body style will prevent it from being categorised into a generic category and it will depend on the company for it to be named as an MPV, a premium hatchback or a crossover.
The interior space would be very trendy
The upcoming car would have a newly designed dashboard with a two-tone treatment of black and beige. The trapezoidal air-convents would feature a silver panel around them. There would even be a large centre touchscreen display for infotainment that would be compatible with Android Auto as well as Apple CarPlay. There have been mentions of the fact that the car would have a spacious cabin, which is apparent from the short overhangs and the long wheelbase. The car will be featuring a removable third row that can be manually folded and have an unlatching operation. The process would be quite simple. Thus the car can either have a huge cargo space or seating for seven passengers.
The powertrain options are not yet declared
The company has not talked about powertrain options. It is possible that the car would feature both petrol and diesel options. There should be both manual and automatic (possibly AMT) transmissions. Though nothing has been confirmed, it is possible that the car would offer a turbocharged variant of the 1.0-litre engine powering the Kwid. It could even have the 1.2-litre turbocharged engine from the Micra. There has even been some talk of an entirely new turbocharged unit for the Renault cars in India.
With all of these hot discussions, the Renault Triber has definitely garnered a lot of attention. The Renault Triber price also seems to be very attractive to Indian buyers. With all of these facts combined, the market is waiting for the induction of this new car.
