Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies and Research – Courses & Fees

The Vivekananda Education Society was established in the year 1962. It has grown from just 256 students to 20,000 students in the current academic year. The Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies and Research formally came into being in March1994. Its flagship programme, PGDM, has increased its intake over the years.

VESIM has been approved by AICTE and has also been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation or NBA. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) has accorded equivalence with MBA degree of an Indian university. The Directorate of Technical Education or DTE has also awarded ‘A’ grade to VESIM in 2007.

Programmes

Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies and Research offers five main programmes and short term certification courses too. Their flagship programme is the PGDM programme, Masters of Management Studies, Faculty Development Programme, Executive Education and PhD programme.

Post Graduate Program in Management (PGDM)

The PGDM programme of VESIM has been formulated to keep up with the industry’s and economy’s current requirements. Today more emphasis is being laid on big data and analytics, and VESIM has made sure to inculcate this in PGDM programme’s syllabus. The programme is a full-time programme that is delivered over two-years.

The PGDM programme is available in nine specializations: business analytics, banking and finance, marketing, operations, human resources management, international business, artificial intelligence and machine learning, sports management and aviation management.

Admission process into the PGDM programme involves submitting a management examination score. VEISM accepts CAT, XAT, MHCET, MAT, CMAT, GMAT, ATMA or an equivalent exam score. Applicants must also be a graduate in any discipline.

Master of Management Studies (MMS)

The Master of Management Studies (MMS) is a two-year full-time programme that has been approved by AICTE, Government of India and has been recognized by University of Mumbai too. The aim of the MMS programme is to make students ready to be managers of industries and companies upon graduation. Students are trained to acquire all the necessary skills to be job ready like decision making, analytical skills, personality developments and more.

VESIM has a diverse faculty to help teach the programme. Teachers have PhD degrees, corporate experience, and some are well-known in their fields too. The programme is taught using case studies, projects, presentations and interactions with corporate heads. There is a summer internship that each student must attend to graduate.

Executive PGDM

A PGDM programme is a full-time AICTE approved management programme for executives with work experience. The programme is available in six different specializations: aviation, business analytics, finance, human resources, marketing/digital marketing and operations. The 15-month long programme is available for professional with five plus years of experience. Graduates are also given placement assistance.

Executive Education

The Executive Education programmes are designed to teachnew skills to the existing managers and leadersto keep up with changing scenarios of the industry. Executive Education programmes of Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Management Studies and Research is also meant for family business members and start-ups too.

All programmes are delivered in classrooms over two to three days. The in-company programmes are highly customizable to meet the specific needs of each organisation and are delivered over a week. There are also long duration programmes that are delivered over three months to one year.

Faculty Development Programme

The faculty development programme of VEISMis research-based. As a part of the programme, there are workshops, case writing exercises and more activities based on research. The programme uses ATLAS, a software that is used for qualitative assessment. Since the time it was launched, there have been three workshops on qualitative research methodology using ATLAS software.

PhD

VEISM also offers doctorate programmes in management. It is designed for individuals who are looking to increase their knowledge of and learn more about management. The PhD programme of VEISM has been designed to address the social science aspect of management. One objective of the programme is to develop critical thinking and also to produce research that will contribute positively to management.

Certification Courses

The certificate programmes that are available at VEISM are marketed towards people who wish to enhance their knowledge in an area of interest within a short amount of time. The programmes also help in refreshing knowledge all the while learning new skills. There are four certificate courses available: NSIM, Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing and People Analytics. The NSIM programme is meant for banking and finance executives who wish to learn more about the securities market and investments. The digital marketing programme is one-year long and helps students learn about new aspects of digital marketing. There are also three entrepreneurship courses- digital marketing, business management and entrepreneurship program.
