Experience the mystic Andaman

Experience the mystic Andaman

Andaman promises an exquisite marine life, clear blue waters and amazing, sandy beaches away from all the hassles of life. A lot of tourists and backpackers are attracted to these islands. The place has wonderful sunsets and some of the best beaches in the country. This archipelago of islands lies in the middle of the Bay of Bengal. Only 38 out of the 572 islands here are inhabited. Being very far from the mainland, most of the islands are unexplored. Before you aboard the Port Blair to Delhi flight, make sure that you are not missing out on anything.

#1. Plenty of places to visit – Port Blair is the capital of these islands and is a multicultural town that offers escape from the busy city life. One of the most beautiful islands here is Havelock Island. The white sandy beaches and the clear blue waters with mahua trees make for a picturesque scenery. You can see the wildlife here at Neil Island and the limestone caves in the region.

#2. Lots of activities to take part in – Snorkelling is one of the best things to do around here. The clear, turquoise waters will help you explore the wonderful aquatic life. Some of the widest range of aquatic flora and fauna can be experienced in the coral reefs of Andaman. The British exiled freedom fighters and political prisoners in the Cellular Jail located in Port Blair.Tourists can check out the place from Tuesday to Saturday.

#3. The food here is pretty good – As is the norm with coastal regions, the seafood here is pretty good. The seafood platter or the whole lobster could be some delicacies to try around here. You can get fried fish at the islands, fresh from the morning catch. Many local restaurants serve Indian dishes at amazing prices. You can even try out Thai, Italian and Continental cuisines other than the seafood items.

#4. When to visit and where to stay – The islands offer a pleasant stay during winter, as it is not chilly in these areas. Though you can enjoy water sports between October to May, January is the best time to experience the local culture and tradition. The islands receive heavy rains during the other half of the year, but the place looks beautiful during this time too.

Make sure to plan your vacation right, before you book your flight.
