Perfect For On The Go Snacks To Boost Energy

I’m constantly running around. I go from the kids’ school, to work, to the kids’ sporting events or gymnastics, to whatever errands need to be done. Premade snacks have never been a favorite of mine, and especially not after having kids. I wanted to find something that would fill everyone up and give us all a boost of energy, without any added garbage.

I started my research looking for homemade snacks with protein. There was plenty out there, but the favorite that I came across were different types of energy balls. I found a few different varieties to switch things up. The best thing about them is that you just roll them together once everything goes through the food processor and they’re ready to go!

I got out my Cuisinart food processor, but unfortunately I could not find my chopping blade. Before I had a meltdown thinking I’d have to purchase a whole new food processor, I googled where I could get one of the blades. I came across KitchenWorksInc. I could purchase a new one there because they sell Cuisinart DFP 14 parts. I was able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Once I got it, I started experimenting with different kinds. There were an insane amount of variations out there. Some sounded kind of gross, but most sounded pretty good! Most of them consist of medjool dates, oats, some kind of nut or nut butter; maybe both, cocoa powder and/or vanilla. Other things can be added in, like shredded coconut or graham crackers. Some are even made with chickpeas.

My kids don’t know most of that. They don’t usually ask me what I used to make the snacks. They taste good, so unknowingly they eat healthy, and I win all the way around. I love these energy balls as well. I know I have a healthy and filling snack to take with me wherever I go.
