What is richcopy?
Richcopy is also a similar software, which helps you copy files, at a very fast rate, and makes the process much less tedious and cumbersome. It was developed by Ken Tamaru of Microsoft corporation. It is a multi-threaded file, and it can copy files at a much faster rate than other utilities. This utility can be evoked either as a command line utility or through a graphical user interface. Suppose, if it is used with graphical user interface, it generates command line to enable it to carry out the action which is specified for the GUI only. the best use of richcopy is generally done by experienced users who know how to verify the fact that copy operations have been completed successfully without any errors.
Criticisms and defects
Richcopy usually does not copy the files that are only opened with some combinations of different file sharing attributes. This makes it a very big flaw in its working. This model of richcopy was discontinued in 2009 by Microsoft, and there have been no updates by the company after that. Even though customers are regularly complaining of certain bug fixes, yet the company does not seem keen on providing any update. Richcopy is known to duplicate the robocopy functionality respectively.
For these defects mentioned above, rich copy is also produced now by another company called the GS richcopy 360. It is capable of copying files and open them, that have been developed further. For this reason, people have shifted from using Microsoft richcopy to Richcopy 360. it offers better features, and removes or fixes all the bugs and problems that were being faced by earlier users of Microsoft.
What should you choose?
Ultimately, the question comes down to which type of software you should use to copy and open your files. You may use either of them. The one built by Microsoft is very reliable, offers great working and easy to understand. It is still used by people, and they have been using it for years now.
On the other hand, the new company which has launched GS richcopy 360, has all the solutions to the bugs that were encountering Microsoft software. It is new, updated and faster than its predecessor. This makes it a much more logical choice, where reliability and credibility depend solely on the quality of work it performs for its customers.
