Apple had bugs in earlier operating systems and it hopes to improvise the operating systems with every upcoming update. However, a few bugs get corrected, another few stays there and a few more are added with the new OS launched. Owners of phones operating on iOS 12.1.1 and other versions upgraded their phones to Apple iOS 12.1.4 to run their current phones better and faster and for better connectivity. They hoped they will overcome the audio and video flaws in FaceTime calls, internet connectivity errors, and other errors of previous versions by installing this latest version, but to the customer’s disappointment, iOS 12.1.4 is also not able to prevent the Wi-fi problems and data connectivity to LTE though it managed to fix the FaceTime errors. The cellular network and Wi-fi connectivity problem is not faced by all the users of Apple as per an informal study on twitter but it is still faced by many. It is truly annoying for the users who cannot connect their phones to data as and when desired.
Probably the reason for the technical glitch in iOS 12.1.4 is its rushed release due to the pressure of quick essential fix of the previous bugs. Unfortunately, the rush proved useless as it came out with additional bugs in iOS 12.1.4 like broken voice memos, email woes, photo glitches, AirPods Playback, and TouchID performance issues. To overcome the connectivity problems in iOS 12.1.4, Apple has recommended the following two ways:
- Turn off cellular service of your device and turn it on back. For this go to the Settings folder followed by clicking on Cellular tab. Then on the top of the page, you will see a button to turn the LTE on and off. When it is white it means it is off and when it shows green then it means that either the phone is connected or trying to connect to LTE. Test your W-fi issue after turning the button off and on.
- To fix your problem of connecting to cellular data you can reset the network settings. Open the Settings menu and then tap to go on General followed by tapping on Reset to land to a new page. Here you will see the Reset Network Settings option. This will reset your Wi-Fi passwords along with VPN and APN settings. It may be little time consuming but the efforts are worth taking for trying to resolve the connectivity issues.
