A remote working visa – Something that has helped those along the way to travel have been the introduction of newer remote working visas – some countries had these in place prior to the past two years, but many others have started to introduce these options recently opening up more travel options than ever before. There are some requirements to be met for certain countries such as the requirement to earn a specific monthly salary, but many are quite approachable and offer great options for those looking to work abroad.

A place to stay – Options to live abroad have always been widely available through platforms like Airbnb or traditionally staying at a hotel, and whilst renting a specific place is always an option it can be difficult to do for shorter stays or whilst just getting started out. There are newer platforms that have emerged aimed specifically at digital nomads, and those looking to work remotely, whether through independent living arrangements or shared spaces – these are particularly useful for those who are travelling to countries that may be less willing to accommodate foreign visitors and having a shared space with others who have been through the same process can make the journey that much more enjoyable.

Getting the right gear matters too – A big part of remote work is ensuring the ability to reliably work whatever the profession may be whilst out on the road where control over circumstances may not always be an option – whilst having steady internet connection isn’t always guaranteed, having the tools to get the work done so when connectivity is back to normal. If repeat travel is on the cards too, having the right equipment to be able to navigate through different countries is essential to not only having the best digital nomad experience, but also essential for having the best work experience to balance this out too.

As the world as a whole becomes more accustomed to remote work and the digital nomad lifestyle, it’ll only become that much easier to explore opportunities, and for other countries who have yet to introduce their own options to introduce changes to allow workers to enjoy the new scenery.
