You can also find a trustworthy pet sitter to come to your home. Pets will feel more comfortable while you’re away if they are in their home. Make sure to do your research before hiring someone to stay with your pet. Check their references, reviews, and introduce them to your pet before hiring them.

2. Secure Your Mail

While you are traveling, it is essential to make sure your mail and packages are secure. This is especially pertinent if you are expecting important mail or large packages that are not able to easily be stored out of plain sight. You do not want to have the stress of wondering if your packages and mail is safe while you are away.

One solution is to go to your local post office and have them hold your mail while you’re away. The office will ask you to feel out a form that will allow them to hold your mail for a certain amount of time with out it being delivered to your home while you are away.

Another solution is to get a P.O. box which are available at the downtown New Castle post office or any local office. You will want to make sure that you get a P.O. box that is large enough for any packages along with any mail you might receive while you are traveling.

Or you can ask a neighbor to get your mail and pick up your packages while you are traveling. If you have a neighbor that you are close to and feel comfortable asking, this is a quick and easy solution for making sure your mail and packages are taken care of.

3. Stay Up to Date

Lastly, if you are planning on traveling outside of the country, make sure that your passport isn’t expired. If it is expired, then you will need to make sure you allow enough time to get an updated passport. This can take several weeks or months, so make sure to check your passport far enough in advance.

Depending on where you are traveling to, you will want to make sure your vaccinations are up to date. Some countries require you to get specific vaccines before you can enter their country. You will also need to present documentation before you can board your flight. Since traveling to other countries is quite strict, make sure you travel safely.
